      Wall In China
This song was the B-side to Three Sisters. During the Alankomaat Tour it
was played very often. It's a beautiful song that also sounded great live.

(5475 kb)Nescio
The Ting tour featured an amazing and spectacular version of Nescio. It
remains fascinating from the gypsy opening to the hectic main part and
endinding with the two percussionists on timpani. Audience recording.Hengelo

Before the band went to the studio for the Tent album, they recorded demo
versions in their rehearsal place. Many songs have different arragements
than the later released versions and in my opinion are better that how
they turned up on the album.Demo 1979 Dennis

(4870 kb)Famous Blue Raincoat
In their last concert of the 20th century the Nits played about 10 Leonard
Cohen covers in the Paradiso in Amsterdam. For this occasion the band was
extended with two female singers, a violinist and an extra guitar player.
This song is Henk's favorite Leonard Cohen song and it gives a good
impression of that evening.Amsterdam

(6122 kb)The Infant King
This is the best Michiel song in my opinion. He must have liked it himself
a lot too, because he rerecorded it for his solo album and used the title
for the whole album. At the Nits INC convention in 2000 he played the song
again for the first time in more than 10 years. This particular version
was recorded during the Adieu, Sweet Bahnhof Tour.Mulhouse

This beautiful song was played at most concerts in the 1974 Tour. It
proves that having two keyboard players doesn't mean that every song has
to sound bombastic. Audience recording.Oss

The Alankomaat Tour featured some very innovative and unique arrangements
of old favorites. This a a great example of that. Audience recording (yes

(4168 kb)The Train (banjo version)
The Train was not regularly played in the wool Tour and if it made the
set, it was the simple short version, except for one night in Beverwijk…
Henk picked the banjo instead of the guitar and the result was this long,
hectic country & westerrn version. The flute is played by Leona. It's a
messy version, but a lot of fun! Audience recording.Beverwijk

An great version of this song. For this radioshow the Nits performed in a
stripped down setting, years before the Unplugged-phenomenon. Several
songs were redone and this one changed the most drastically.Countdown Café

(4217 kb)Letter To E (with Luka Bloom)
A unique collaboration between Nits and Luka Bloom. Both were present to record a Twee Metter Sessie for the radio and they decided to do one song together. Luka Bloom added backing vocals and some atmospheric guitar to this song.Twee Meter Sessie

During the Ting Tour this song was played a few times in a very strange,
short arrangement, which is absolutely different than any other version of
this song. Audience recording.Groningen

(2282 kb)The Infinite Shoeblack
For this Leidsekade Live radio performance the band only had a small piano
and some percussion as instruments. They rearranged a few songs on the
spot and played some great versions of them. This reduction to piano and
percussion gave the band the idea to make the Ting album. This song is a
great example of this historic radio performance.

played during the dAdAdA tour. It's about time the band digs this one up

A powerful version recorded at the big Roskilde Festival in Denmark as
part of the Omsk Tour. This concert was meant as their break into
Scandinavia, but outside Finland the band never became big over there.Roskilde

This is a cover of a German song by Dravi Deutscher. The band already
played it at some concerts in the late '70s, but resurrected it for the
German part of the New Flat tour.

This Wool song was played fantastically in concert. This version was
broadcast on the radio and has great sound, so all the parts can be heard
perfectly. It's clear how many touches every band member adds to this
song. Unfortunately this version is before Leona joined the band and
therefore does not feature her Irish tin whistle.

I always preferred the live version over the studio version. The build-up
of the song is much better. This is one was recorded for Finnish radio
early in the Alankomaat tour.
