(5905 kb)Stones #2
This is a second demonstration of the 'Stones' percussion instruments. Tis time the stone is rubbed, producing a humming noise. It is unclear who is playing, but it\'s probably Fritz Hauser or Arthur Schneider. It's hard to tell from the documentary if any Nits member is playing here..Werf, Amsterdam

(3542 kb)Stones #1
The songs regularly contain interview parts over the music.
This track is a short improvisation on the 'stones' percussion instruments that were used on the TING album. All Nits members are playing, as well as Swiss percussionist Fritz Hauser and sculptor Arthur Schneiter.Werf, Amsterdam

(1102 kb)Fire In My Head (Early Version)
In 1992 a documentary about the creation of the TING album awas broadcast in the Netherlands. This was filmed in the Werf studio in late 1991 and featured seveal early versions of songs played live in the studio. Several of these songs feature alternate lyrics or music. I've isolated 10 tracks from this documentary, which will be uploaded here. Sound quality is good, but not excellent.
Fire In My Head features some alternative lyrics. Werf, Amsterdam

(1507 kb)River (Live Ting Tour)
This is a radio or TV recording of the Ting song River. It was only performed in 1992 and 1993. I have no other information about this recording (only that the other songs were Cars And Cars and Soap Bubble Box).Radio or TV Dennis Versteeg

(4717 kb)Steentjes (Soundtrack)
This is music that was used with a short film by Henk made for Dutch TV. The short film showed various Nits and crew members playing around with little bricks ('Steentjes' in Dutch). It's a fun little movie and the music suits the images. It's not that fascinating to listen to by itself, but nice enough to place it here. Werf? Dennis Versteeg

(2082 kb)Bike In Head (Loooong Version)
With it's 9 minutes, this is probably the longest ever version of Bike In Head. The sound quality is rather poor, but it's such a special version it's worth putting it here. The song features a long instrumental section that was triggered by a triangle (!) solo by Rob.Zutphen

(7039 kb)So Long Ago, Nancy & Apple Orchard (soundcheck)
This is an odd medley of bits of Leonard Cohen's So Long Ago, Nancy that turns into Apple Orchard. It's quite long and the sound is not optimal, but it shows how the band sometimes likes to experiment in soundchecks.Gouda

(6824 kb)Scarborough Fair
Usually in the HAT Tour the intro to Nescio consisted of Henk singing a part of the English verse over a piano backing, as can be heard on URK. In this case he sang a bit of Simon & Garfunkel's song Scarborough Fair.Alkmaar

This was recorded on the 21st, 22nd or 23rd of March 1989 during the Nits' legendary concerts in Moscow.
