A rare, wonderfully warm version of Hook of Holland, recorded live in Breda on 27th december 1989, during one of the last shows of the Urk Tour.Breda, NL

This song was played at all Hat-concerts, but didn't make it on the
Urk-album. So I
guess it's nice to offer it here as a download.Brussel

(4989 kb)Liesbeth List – Brief Aan Mia
This is of course a Dutch version of Letter To E. Henk wrote that song for
his Swiss' friend Eric's wedding in the early '90s. He gave a Dutch
version to singer Liesbeth List, who recorded it for an album. Famous
Dutch singer Frank Boeijen provides backing vocals. Apparently Henk really
likes this song, because later it was also released on the Alankomaat
album in an English version.CD 1995 Dennis

An great version of this song. For this radioshow the Nits performed in a
stripped down setting, years before the Unplugged-phenomenon. Several
songs were redone and this one changed the most drastically.Countdown Café

(4217 kb)Cars And Cars (live)
The Alankomaat Tour featured a very different version of Cars & Cars. While it's not an improvement, it's certainly interesting enough to hear.Delft

(6450 kb)In The Dutch Mountains
This is the 'bull-bull'-version of the Alankomaat Tour. Henk played the
bull-bull, an Indian instrument that most resembles a typewriter with
strings. Together with Rob's tabla's the Indian atmosphere was complete.
Early in the tour Henk continued to play the bull-bull throughout the
whole song, but later on in the tour he switched to acoustic guitar for
the second half. This is a performance which features the latter version.
Audience recording.

of old favorites. This a a great example of that. Audience recording (yes

(1937 kb)Walter And Conny
An amazing demo version of Walter and Conny: it features lyrics! Apparently they decided to remove the lyrics for the release. Another special thing is that lead vocals are alternated by Henk, Robert Jan and Michiel, each sings one or more verses. This is something which doesn't happen on any other Nits song. Demo Dennis

A never released song from before the first album. It sounds a lot
like The Who to me. It's one of the earliest Nits songs that feature a
synthesizer.

This is an unreleased Nits song that was recorded as a demo in the period
before the debut album. To me it sounds almost like a song by The Who.Demo 1977 Dennis

(4866 kb)Yes Or No
A demo for the debut album. Some different things are going on in this
version. It sounds a bit warmer than the released version. There are lots
more songs from these sessions available, including many unreleased songs.
Maybe they will be uploaded at a later time.Demo 1977 Dennis

(3779 kb)Went To The Sea
An early version of Harrow Accident, very different arrangement and
several different lyrics. This was a demo for the debut album, but the
song wasn't used. Eventually it was released as the b-side to Tutti
Ragazzi and many years later as a bonustrack on the Tent CD.

(4040 kb)Tutti Ragazzi
A demo for the debut album. This version is much more basic and
piano-based. The lyrics and arrangement have differences. It is (of
course) closer to the debut album version than the later rerecorded Tent
version.
